Cane Corso Owner Guide
Cane Corso full-grown size: height, weight & maturity
6 min read
TL;DR
Adult Cane Corsos are large, muscular dogs. The AKC standard gives male and female height ranges and specifies that weight should be proportionate to height; it does not set one correct adult weight. “Full grown” also has more than one meaning: height, muscling, behavior, and social maturity do not finish on the same day.
- Males: 25–27½ inches; females: 23½–26 inches at the withers.
- A healthy weight is assessed in context of frame, muscle, body condition, and health—not sex alone.
- Adult body and behavior can keep developing after a dog looks tall.
| Measure | Male | Female |
|---|---|---|
| Height at withers | 25–27½ in | 23½–26 in |
| Weight | Proportionate to height | Proportionate to height |
| Build | Muscular, balanced, large-boned | Muscular, balanced, large-boned |
The best way to assess a particular adult is a physical examination and an ongoing body and muscle condition assessment with a veterinary professional.

- The standard’s male height range is higher than the female range, but individuals vary and both are substantial dogs.
